Trails of Ashland Oregon

Ashland has lots of trails for hikers, runners and mt. bikers. If your new to the area check out the maps below to find a trail to explore. If your a local this should be a good collection of information on the trails in Ashland.

As many of the Ashland trails the Bandersnatch is named after a character in Alice In Wonderland. A pedestrian-equestrian trail that starts by the reservoir at the top of Lithia Park.  You can park on Glenview up past the reservoir on the right.  Then you take the waterline trail which is essentially a dirt road that is gated.  Head up Waterline for about a quarter mile to the Bandersnatch trail head on the left. Bandersnatch is about a 1.8 mile loop if you connect with Jub Jub to lower Red Queen then onto Loop Rd. back down to Glenview and to the parking area.  It is a moderately difficult trail to the top and then is mostly downhill back to the parking area.  There is a picnic bench with views of Mt Ashland about a half mile up from the trailhead before the trail crosses the BTI mountain bike trail. There are good views of the mountains as well as the Rogue valley.

BTI is one of the original trails that is a mainstay for the locals.  Now offers a downhill traffic only trail and a separate multi use trail.

, Alice in Wonderland is so named because of the madrone tunnels that used to be at the bottom.  The trail has since been re routed but still has that awesome speed flow that we mt. bikers love.

Jabberwocky was created for the Mt. bikers with super banked corners and fun flow jumps. Part of the Ashland Mountain Challenge the last race in the California Enduro series happening in early October. The Jabberwocky trail is possibly one of the best downhill trails in Ashland. At 2 miles long it has lots of twists and turns and jumps and bumps. Located just below the Lizzard trail which when rode together will add a couple doubles for your pleasure.

JubJub, is a a connector trail.

Indoor pool/sauna comes with toys for your kids. Very close to downtown but the safeway is right across the street so it makes it easy to get food and beverages.

This is a very convenient location with parking. The rooms are spacious and well equipped with refrigerator and microwave. It was mostly clean (bathtub walls needed some attention) and the staff was very friendly and helpful. Their grab-and-go breakfast was better than most. I would not hesitate to stay here again.
