Ashland is known for its world-renowned Shakespeare Festival but that’s not all the fun you can find here. New Years Eve is just around the corner and there are a few fun events going on that everyone can enjoy! Whether you are looking for something 21 and up or an event your whole family can go to, we have it all.

You can start your celebration by joining us here at the Stratford Inn. Come check in to one of our standard two-queen rooms or enjoy a suite with a kitchenette or a king executive room. We have something that will fit your budget and satisfy your needs. All of our rooms come standard with a refrigerator/freezer combo, a microwave, and coffee pot.

After a fun evening out you can wake up to our continental breakfast that serves items such as cereal, bagels, oatmeal, muffins, french toast, hard boiled eggs, yogurt, juice, and coffee. Our in-house coffee shop is also a perfect place to grab something delicious where you can choose from any of our coffee or tea items. Our friendly staff is here ready to make your New Year’s Celebration one you won’t soon forget.

Below is a list of local events to help you ring in the New Year; The Black Sheep is throwing a New Year’s Eve Celebration for the 21 and up. Put on your holiday best and join them in a celebration of our loyal patrons, dear friends, wonderful families, and the passing of yet another year. You can enjoy stylish party favors, a champagne toast, a round of ‘Auld Lang Syne’ with the crowd, and a proper rowdy ringing in of the New Year at Midnight with the bagpipers from the Southern Oregon Scottish Bagpipe Band. There is a cover charge of $5 and the celebration starts at 9pm.

The Havurah Shir Hadash is hosting a multi-generational family dance to ring in the New Year. Jerry Attrick & The Pacemakers play classic dance music spanning the ages, for all ages. Their music ranges from Klezmer to music of the 60’s & 70’s and contemporary classic dance tunes of every style imaginable. The band will play until after midnight and there will be snacks and beverages available throughout the evening. Tickets are $10 in advance ($25 per family) or $13 at the door ($30 per family). St. Marks Episcopal Church is holding its annual New Year’s Eve Concert. The concert will feature a variety of artists. After the concert there will be a reception followed by the Service of Night Prayer for the New Year. This event is free and doors will open at 6:30 PM. The Perazim International Christian Center is holding a New Year’s Eve Service that starts at 10pm and goes until midnight. There will be worship, prayer, and giving thanks to bring in 2012. Childcare will be available. Conscious New Year: The 2012 Awakening is being held at the Historic Ashland Armory. This is an evening of enlightening music, community, dancing, good food, and celebration. All proceeds benefit Grandmother Agnes Baker Pilgrim and the 13 Indigenous Grandmothers and Community Works. Tickets are available at the Music Coop in Ashland, Southern Oregon Alternative Medicine and Pipe Dreams in Medford, Dragons Lair in Grants Pass and at the Williams General Store. They ask that you bring non-perishable food donations for the local food bank. Tickets are $15. The Ashland YMCA is hosting a slumber party for kids that are in grades 1t through 5th. There will be a pizza dinner, swimming, spring floor, games, basketball, music, dancing, movies, popcorn and a continental breakfast that will be served the next morning. The fun begins at 6:30pm and continues until 9am January 1. Pre registration is required to attend this event. The Liberty Tree Dancers will help you ring in the New Year at the New Evergreen Ballroom. Here you can dance to a mix of ballroom and Colonial music. Formal attire is requested and they ask that you bring a dish of treats to share. The cost is $10 for a family or $5 per person in advance or $7 per person at the door and will start at 8pm and end around midnight.
